Afrofemme

An exhibition by Madder & Kohl

The Art Bytes series is a monthly online exhibition hosted by WORLDART. In April the featured artists will be Madder & Kohl who will be showing their Afrofemme series.

This series honours the grace and strength of the African woman. Various techniques exploring graffiti, printmaking, hand lettering and digital design were used to create the portraits and their work is influenced and inspired by the pair's interest in African design, ethnic textiles, tribal masks and graphic patterning.

Madder & Kohl is a collaborative art duo based in Cape Town. Their collaboration blends art and design and is rooted in their common interests in street art and unconventional material use. Before working together as artists since 2018, the pair worked together at the multi-disciplinary design studio, Fuel Design.
