Alejandro Moiraghi, an Argentinian artist based in Buenos Aires, will be doing his first solo exhibition in South Africa at the Worldart gallery in Cape Town from 4 to 18 April.
Moiraghi’s paintings and sculptures present a unique and humorous view of the urban landscape and the dreams and realities of those who populate it. His visual language features expressive cartoon-like figures often in ridiculous situations and makes one smile while simultaneously addressing more serious issues related to the human condition.
“We are proud to host this exhibition. It is something different and presents to Cape Town a look at the world that we would certainly recognise, but with a sense of humour and interpretation that is different to that we are used to” says Worldart owner Charl Bezuidenhout.

Alejandro Moiraghi was born in Argentina in 1973. He studied at the Faculty Arts, National University of Tucuman, where he received BA in Fine Arts. His work can be seen in many public institutions in Argentina as well as in private collections in Brazil, Mexico and the USA. He has also received a number of awards.
